DIY Tablet Part 2 - Battery power

This is part 2 of the series where I'll probably electrocute myself trying to build my own tablet. See part 1 to see what prompted this insanity.

I found a great guide on building a battery pack, and it explains the basics pretty well. What I'll probably end up doing for my Pandaboard is to wire 4 NiMH cells in series to get 4.8v, at roughly 2Ah. Considering that the PB draws between 0.4 and 0.8 amps (not counting peaks of up to 1.4 amps during boot), this should get me several hours of juice. Depending on how much space I have I'd like to squeeze in 8 cells, but it's not a huge issue if I can't.
